She is a western medical doctor and a traditional healer who sought to expand her skills set, adding beauty care product manufacturing to her portfolio.
Thubelihle (Thube) Mpofana is the Founder and creator of Indlovukazi Beauty Care – A proudly African brand which manufactures and sells beauty care products.
Indlovukazi which means ‘African Queen’ in isiZulu, manufactures beauty care products for men and women, with all skin types. Their natural plant-based products are made from 100% natural butters and oils.
“Our ingredients include raw unrefined Ghanaian shea butter, unrefined Ghanaian cocoa butter, Coconut oil, South African moringa oil, baobab oil, Jamaican black castor oil, and many more. We also use a variety of essential oils in our products like tea tree, rosemary, lavender, peppermint oils and others,” she says.
“All our products are handmade, in small batches to ensure extreme care during production. I plant some of the ingredients in my garden, like the rosemary plant, which I use in the hair oil moisturiser. In our organisation, we live by the motto that says, ‘mother nature has all the solutions to our daily problems and needs’. That’s the principle that guides our manufacturing process,” says Thube.
