Lilies & Cadence (Pty) Ltd is a home fragrance brand created in Pretoria, owned by Nompumelelo Majola.

“I’ve always had a passion for scents through various mediums, including those that I use to scent my living and working spaces. To quote a famous perfumer; “Fragrance allows me to interpret the world around me.” These words are partly the inspiration behind the name Lilies & Cadence: cadence being a term borrowed from music, referring to a melodic arrangement that creates a sense of resolution. That’s what home fragrance is to me – it’s the final touch and your own personal signature that you give to a room. My vision is to create unique home fragrance products which feel very personal to the consumer and that they can use to truly personalise their own spaces,” says Nompumelelo.

The Classic Collection

The Classic Collection is handcrafted using all-natural soy wax which is non-toxic and non-carcinogenic. The candles also burn cleaner and longer than traditional paraffin wax candles. The wax is safe for use on the skin, so they can be used as a moisturiser or massage oil once melted. A unique feature of our Classic Collection candles are the wooden wicks used in them. They create a unique visual and audible experience; the wick produces a distinct horizontal flame and makes a soft crackling sound while burning.

“Our high-quality wooden wicks are also made with a booster strip to ensure a steady, continuous burn. The fragrance oils used in our candles are sourced from the finest perfumers in France and are inspired by natural ingredients, woods and botanicals. Our Classic Collection luxury soy candles are a full sensory experience – from the beautiful packaging to the warm candlelight and delicate aromas that fill a room,” she says.

Candle Scents
The Classic Collection currently offers three scent variations. The familiar sweetness of Vanilla Coconut is crowned with an orange blossom top note and nicely rounded off with a sandalwood and musk base. Baobab & Acacia provide a lavish blend of botanicals and earthy woods inspired by the great African Tree, and sweet, pickled pear is enveloped in a spicy ginger and cinnamon rub in our Pear & Cinnamon Soy Candle.
