Founder of ZENJEWELS, Julieta Aurelio shares more insight about how her brand cares to bring about a holistic wellness approach starting from body care, with the aspiration to go further.
“To define holistic, we encompass the whole of a being and not just a part. Holistic wellness and healing looks at the whole person for answers, not just physical symptoms – this is the mind, body, spirit, and social factors included. Not only have we most likely grown up with plenty of trauma in our personal lives and harmful chemicals in the air, but we’re exposed to things that keep us from living healthy time and time again. This has thus kept from the full potential of our prosperity, which we have by birthright. With holistic healing, the entire being’s restoration is taken to consideration instead of symptoms. Holistic wellness looks into causes. Furthermore, this focus is on curing the whole not just the affected part, therefore terminating symptoms that are manifesting differently or repeatedly, instead of treating bits and pieces that are most likely to resurface.
Holistic healing easily leads to a holistic lifestyle, an interconnected life with all that is. Most body care and cosmetic products have harmful and toxic ingredients like Coal Tar, Dea/Tea/Mea, Ethoxylated, Surfactants and 1,4-dioxane, Formaldehyde, Fragrance/Parfum, Hydroquinone, Lead, Mercury, Mineral Oil, Oxybenzone, Parabens, Paraphenylenediamine (PPD), Phthalates, Placental Extract, Polyethylene glycol (PEG), Silicone-derived emollients, Sodium lauryl (ether) sulfate (SLS, SLES), Talc, Toluene and Triclosan. These are most likely found to cause endocrine disruption, liver/kidney/lung damage, cancer, toxic harm to skin and immune system, reproductive toxicity, hormone disruption, cellular damage, low birth weight, impairs the skin’s ability to release toxins, impairs brain development, causes headaches, dizziness, asthma, and allergies – just to list a few.
After I discovered an underarm and breast lump, I looked into all the actions which could not only reverse my diagnosis but stop the cause entirely. This led me to natural body care, journaling and eating a more plant-based diet. This has become my holistic approach to a healthy lifestyle and brand,” she concludes.
